What is an Albergo Diffuso?
The Albergo Diffuso is a horizontal hotel: it doesn’t just offer a bedroom, but an authentic home featuring every commodity. The reception desk – where guests stop to pick up their keys – is centrally located among the lodgings which are positioned inside an area that is particularly interesting from an historical and architectural point of view.
Just like in any traditional hotel, a change of linens, clean-up and breakfast (special offers from restaurants in the area) are included in our rates.
The concept of this kind of accommodation, conceived in the Friuli region in the 1980’s, is one that focuses upon making the most of typical buildings that have been recuperated (and made available by private citizens) while offering the guest an opportunity to become acquainted with the history and tradition of a territory, its natural beauties, local foods and wines and its people. This kind of accommodation is very suited to those who are seeking an alternative kind of holiday: one that is not already planned to the smallest detail – like those in a tourist village – but one in which the guest is free to choose what to do and see.
This is the kind of holiday in which one can also decide to just relax and listen to the voices and sounds of nature. Their slower rhythm help us forget about our hectic lifestyles.
