Bike riding and Bici Diffusa
Each Albergo Diffuso is made up of a group of living areas that is managed in a unitary form, guaranteeing guests the possibility to bring their bikes to the safest place there is: indoors. Furthermore, there is also a garage-repair shop available for those bikers who need some minor work done on their "wheels" as well as additional services such as those providing tourist cycling itineraries of the area, a list of nearby mechanics, a "hearty" breakfast for the athlete and other activities for a psycho-physical sense of wellbeing.
BiCi Diffusa© is also the “Mont di Bike” Offtrack Biking School with Headquarters at Monte Prat in Forgaria that has been acknowledged by the Italian Cycling Federation directed by cycle-cross world champion Daniele Pontoni. The school came into being as a result of the efforts of private citizens, local Public Administration, the Albergo Diffuso at Forgaria Monte Prat and the local “San Lorenzo home that offer day, weekend or week long camps where old and young alike can learn the secrets of this magical sport.
Daily and weekend cycle tourism excursions are organised and include itineraries in MTB accompanied by Daniele Pontoni and local guides that can be lengthy, with various degrees of difficulty. It is also possible to descend from the Monte Prat plateau to tour the Friulan plane, riding along dirt country roads or paved ones that lead to our region’s enchanting towns and villages.
Whether you are alone or in the company of friends, in a group or with your family, you will be able to choose between eight mapped circuits along the plateau, divided according to the different levels of difficulty and clearly marked in three colours: blue (easy), red (intermediate) and black (difficult).
- The blue itineraries are also suitable for young children who want to start biking.
- The red itineraries will allow you to visit some of the most characteristic spots of our area, following the pathways once used for the transumanza.
- The black itineraries are quite difficult and are suited to those who already have a good physical preparation.
Tracks will be chosen after an assessment of weather conditions and the physical condition of participants, so as to offer an itinerary which is best suited to everyone involved. At the end of the excursion everybody is invited to enjoy a refreshing snack.

BiCi Diffusa© was established thanks to the combined efforts of 5 Albergo Diffuso locations throughout the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in order to offer guests a chance to experience unique moments on their bikes all year round.
